It’s pretty typical. Someone decides to become a follower of Jesus and life is great…for a bit. But before they know it, old habits have returned, former worries resurface and the feelings just aren’t what they were at first. Maybe they didn’t become a Christian after all. Nonsense. Jesus’ death applies as much to them as to anyone who has ever called on his name. But there is something foundational that they are missing. So foundational that Paul will turn his focus on it for the next big section of his letter to the church at Rome.
