Adrienne Coggins

Worship Pastor

Family:

My husband, Chris and I, have four amazing sons: Dallas (19), Jackson (17), Tyler (14), and Brock (10). Dallas is at TAMU studying Computer Science. Jackson is planning to go to Spain and play gobs of soccer and maybe make a pro team. Tyler is headed into high school, loves coding and video games. Brock is loving soccer, reading lots of books and a pro at Fortnite. Chris works for the VA in the mainframe. When he is not videoing Jackson on the pitch all over the country, he spends his time with the family and building things.

What I do at church:

I am the Worship Pastor for Southwest Family Fellowship. I recruit, direct, plan, mentor, disciple, encourage, lead, serve, love anything and everything having to do with our services and the production of it. I have a fantastic team that serves alongside me.

Education:

I graduated top 5% from Madison High School in San Antonio. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with majors in Reading Deficiencies and Coaching. I am 3/4 of the way through my ministerial license with AG. O that there were more hours in the day!

How I got here:

My husband Chris and I have served together in ministry for over 20 years. We pastored a church for 10 years here in Austin. About 6 years ago we felt like God wanted us to take a different path while our boys were going through high school so we took a sabbatical from Full-Time Ministry. In doing this, we found Southwest Family and knit in. The rest you can see every Sunday morning!

Favorite sports team:

My favorite sports team is whatever team kids are playing on. Although I am partial to Chelsea Blues.

Favorite toy growing up:

My favorite toy growing up was probably my tennis racket. I was a very good tennis player from a very young age. I play a lot of pickleball now and enjoy that too.

Favorite Bible verse:

This is a tough question for me because I’d like to preach you a sermon here. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will makes your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Favorite Bible story:

This is also another place where I could type a wealth of information because my favorite story changes as I study the Scriptures and apply them to my life and use them to encourage and teach others.
Today, it’s John 4. Affectionately titled, “The Woman at the Well.” I love everything about what Jesus did here in this chapter. I see myself as an outsider, not accepted; however, completely loved and accepted by Jesus Christ. John 4:10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
