An expert in the religious law asked Jesus the question: Who is my neighbor? Jesus responded by telling the man the story of the Good Samaritan. The parable of the Good Samaritan is the most widely known of the parables Jesus tells. In fact, the influence of this parable is so far-reaching that there are hospitals, non-profit organizations, insurance companies, retirement homes, software programs, charity events, and even laws named after the Good Samaritan.
