There is a saying about worship I heard many years ago. It said, “We all worship something.” Worship in layman’s terms is the act of ascribing worth to something, most commonly in reference to God; however, I have been to many rock concerts and seen a lot of what I would also call a form of worship. I remember specifically being at a NKOTB concert (that’s New Kid on the Block for those of you who don’t know) and seeing people crying just for a touch or a look from the stage entity. (I bet Pastor Anthony has experienced this phenomenon at his U2 concerts as well.) I find myself contemplating how worship of God fits into this fast paced life we are living. Why is it important? Do we really need it? What did Jesus have to say about it? Join us this Sunday as we dive into John chapter 4 and explore Jesus’s encounter with the woman at the well and His words on worship.
